God is the source of all our resources. The property and wealth we have is a gift from Him and God expects us to steward it wisely. Read the following verses: Psa. 24:1, 89:11, 50:10-12 James 1:17, Matt. 25:29.

- What strikes you about these verses?

- What does this say about God that He allows man to manage the earth? What kind of a job do you feel mankind has done?

God is a God of abundance and He desires to bless His people. Yet God cannot bless us if we are out of sync with His attitude on finances, otherwise the human tendency would be to stay there. Read the following verses and discuss: Matt. 13:12, 2 Cor. 9:8, Gen. 12:1,12,13, Deut. 8:18

- What strikes you about these verses?

- Where do you think most people are out of sync with God’s view on money?

- Where in your finances could you use some understanding and knowledge right now?

- What types of investments do you hope to make in the next year to be a good steward of your resources?

God warns us that money can lure us from dependency on Him and so we must have alertness to its misuse. Money is morally neutral, yet God clearly warns us that it is powerful enough to take our eyes off God. Read the following verses and discuss: Matt. 4:8-10, 6:24, 1 Tim. 6:11-19.

- What is Timothy told to flee? To pursue?

- When are you most vulnerable to be tempted in this area?
