Turning Problems Into Promotions |
|
WELCOME ICEBREAKER Who was one of the most talented people you knew in school? WORSHIP Come, let’s shout praises to GOD, raise the roof for the Rock who saved us! Let’s march into his presence singing praises, lifting the rafters with our hymns! And why? Because GOD is the best, High King over all the gods. Psa. 95:1-3 (Message). WORD As a group read Matthew 25:14-30. Study Questions - How do you think the first two servants doubled the talents they were given?
- From this parable on what basis does God give promotion?
- Who can you think of in the Bible that was promoted because they solved problems with the abilities and talents God had given them?
- If solving problems turns into promotions, what problem could, if solved in your work place, lead to promotion?
- Why did the servant who was given one talent bury it?
- What do you think he did with his time while the master was gone?
- How important is it that we use our talents in the local church?
- What keeps people from volunteering to use their talents at Coastal? (Please write these in your home group report so we can make it easier for people to use their talents at church)
- What motivates people to serve at Coastal? (Please write these in your home group report so we can make it easier for people to use their talents at church)
- Read the following verses and see how they relate: 1 Peter 4:10, 1 Timothy 6:20-21, Romans 12:3-6
WORK Go around the group and have each person listen silently while others affirm what talent God has given them to invest in His kingdom. “For I know the thoughts that I think towards you”, says the Lord, “thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
