In Matthew 14 we read how Peter and the other disciples were in awe of the supernatural presence of Jesus when they recognized that it was Him who was walking on the water. Give Him praise for being the same yesterday, today and forever!

Review how Jesus told Andrew and John to come and see. Two action words; come — take a step in His direction and see — check it out for themselves. These are the same words Philip would use for his friend Nathanael and likely what Andrew told his big brother Simon.

Read Acts 5:31,32

• What are the disciples and the Holy Spirit witnesses to?

  Hebrews 12:1-2 — Read these scriptures

• Who are the cloud of witnesses?
  Discuss how Jesus is the author of this race and the finisher.

• What three things did Jesus do?

  • endured the cross
  • exposure to death: He exposed sin, likened to a camera having exposed film
  • despised the shame: this wasn't something He enjoyed
  • sat down at the right hand of the throne of God

Look up 1 John 5:4

• Jesus knew His purpose.

• ‘delivered’ — can't return to the place we've been delivered from
• " 1 Corinthians 1:18 - the message of the cross is power to whom?
• " 2 Corinthians 5:17 - new creation; new species of being
  
  • vs. 21 Jesus became sin

• What do we wrestle against?
• What's the provision for us in the various pieces of the armor?

Pray that, as the diffuser of the fragrance of the Lord (2 Corinthians 2:14), we will recognize the scent we bring with us - that it gives us an opportunity to present the good news to others.
