WELCOME ICEBREAKER

What event moves you to tears?

WORSHIP

Pick some songs that will lead up to Easter Sunday.

WORD

Passover was just a few days away when Jesus decided to enter Jerusalem. He knew that His death awaited Him. It was the appointed time to declare that He was King. During this time the population of Jerusalem would swell to over 2 million people. From all over the surrounding region and the then known world people would come to celebrate Passover.

As a group read Luke 19:28-44.

Discussion questions:

  1. What stands out to you in this passage?
  2. Why did the crowd respond the way they did?
  3. If you were a TV reporter in the crowd that day who would you have liked to interview? Why?
  4. Why did the Pharisees want Jesus to quiet the crowd?
  5. What kind of King did the crowd think Jesus was? What kind of King do you think Jesus is?
  6. What caused Jesus to weep over Jerusalem?
  7. What group of people do you yearn to come to Christ?
