WELCOME ICEBREAKERHas there been an opportunity in your life where you were willing to make a change and abandon your safety zone? Did you take it? WORSHIP“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 WORDJesus will continue to challenge us to leave the comfort of the “boat” and allow us to step out into the realm of the impossible. - Read Matthew 14:24-33. If you could paint the picture of this scenario, what would stand out to you?
- Read 1 John 4:1. In testing the ‘water’ or the Spirit, how do we as believers do this?
- Read Matthew 4:5-7. As our example, Jesus gave us a great lesson on where to put our trust. How did Jesus answer the devil each time he tempted Him?
- Read Hebrews 12:2. When the circumstances look impossible, we are able to focus on the Rock of Ages. (Matthew 7:24, 25)
- In reading the account in Matthew 14, Peter takes his eyes off Jesus. In 2 Timothy 2:13 Jesus’ faithfulness is evident and solid. He will keep His eyes on us.
- Peter received instruction from Jesus, while in the midst of the storm as he was crying out for help. The Lord may speak to us (“o you of little faith, why did you doubt?”) before the waters are calm. How did Peter and the rest of the disciples respond to Jesus?
WORK- Pray for any needs in the group, as well as for those on the Mongolian mission team – Pastor Dave, Rob Kesson and Carolyn Bergman.
- Pray for those who feel as those they are being prompted to step out of the boat of comfort. End by a corporate time of worshipping God for His faithfulness.
