Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderfu, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Jesus is the Prince of Peace. The peace He talked about was not a peace in the political sense of the word but in the hearts and minds of men and women. Jesus never took on a political agenda in His time, despite the expectation of His followers to address the heavy Roman occupation. He delivered His message of peace on earth to all walks of life. He made it clear that the roman soldiers He spoke to, the business men, the housewife, the civil servant, the politician, the unemployed, the poor; all of them could live in their world with a peace that could be found no where else. Only when they found this peace could they have peace with God and be peacemakers in a broken world. Listen now

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
- Let God be involved by bringing your worries to Him.
- Philippians 4:6,7
Never worry about anything. But in every sitiation let God know what you need in prayers and requests while giving thanks. Then God's peace, which goes beyond anything we can imagine, will guard your thoughts and emotions through Christ Jesus.

And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.
A prayer of acceptance of God's gift: Dear God, I don't want to let another Christmas pass without accepting Your gift to me. Thank You for coming to earth so I could know what You're like. I am amazed that You would want a relationship with me. I want to get to know You. I invite You into my life. I ask for Your joy and Your peace. Please help me to know the purpose that You put me on earth for. I know I've done a lot of things wrong and I'm especially grateful for Your forgiveness and Your gift of eternal life. From this day forward I want to be under new management. I want You to be the Lord of my life. Amen. Our Christmas prayer for you: 2 Thessalonians 3:16 Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. |
