WELCOME ICEBREAKERName a person that you think represents integrity. WORSHIPPsalm 95:2 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise! WORDProverbs 9:1 Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn out its seven pillars. Wisdom is the truths we apply to the knowledge we have in our lives that can make or break us. The difference between knowledge and wisdom can be seen in the marriage counsellor with the failed marriage or the financial advisor who goes broke. Wisdom is about how to apply the knowledge more than the knowledge itself. We are not told what the seven pillars are but I do believe that integrity is one of them. The theme of integrity runs through Proverbs and the entire Bible. Do you think walking in integrity takes the pressure off your life or adds pressure to your life? Why or why not? Read Proverbs 11: 3 and Proverbs 10: 9. Read Proverbs 2:6-11 and Proverbs 13:6 and discuss why walking in the wisdom of integrity makes you more secure. For further studies if you have time in your group read Genesis 3:1-20. Joseph demonstrated the pillar of integrity as he walked in wisdom. - How did Joseph demonstrate integrity on the job?
- What do you think gave Joseph the strength to resist lowering his standards?
- Where did Joseph get his standards from?
- Is it possible to make up your own standards or principles?
- What are some examples where you see the standards of your integrity tested in the work place?
- Do you think it is harder to walk with integrity in the home or in the work place/school?
WORKPray for each other in the area of integrity. Also please pray for the start of the Alpha course.
