Are you happy with the name you were given? Do you know what it means?

WORSHIP

Psalm 100:1  Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!

Psalm 100:2  Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy.

Psalm 100:3  Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Psalm 100:4  Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.

Psalm 100:5  For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.

  1. What stands out to you in this story?
  2. What do you think caused Zacchaeus to have such a spiritual appetite?
  3. What are symptoms of a suppressed spiritual hunger?
  4. As a group discuss what causes us to lose our spiritual appetite.
  5. What causes a home group to lose its spiritual hunger? How can we guard against that?
  6. If you had been Zaccheaus and Jesus called you by name and asked you to come down and take you to your home, how would you have felt?

  10. Describe how you think Zacchaeus felt after Jesus departed?
  11. Zacchaeus’ name means “pure”. Jesus saw him as pure before he was. What person in your life affirms you?
