The fulfillment of life that we all are looking for is found in serving others. Jesus clearly taught and modeled the life of a servant. The Bible makes it clear that we are all called to minister and everyone has been given gifts that can be used in the local church. When volunteers make the move from the spectator’s seat to the playing field, they realize that they become instruments of healing and hope for a hurting world around them. The volunteers enjoy the benefit of being on a team of others who unselfishly are giving their lives for others. Through this, the community wins for they receive the love of a unified group that is multi-gifted working together. And of course God is pleased with the sacrifices people make to put others first to reach out to a broken world. At Coastal Church we endeavor to offer a wide range of opportunities to volunteer and enjoy the thrill of serving others. How to Participate as a Volunteer To volunteer at Coastal Church, we invite people to attend the Equipping Base classes held on Sundays (see Equipping Bases for more details). In these classes, the vision and beliefs of the church are outlined. It is also a place where your gifts and talents are identified and the purpose of serving is clarified. These four classes provide a foundation of instruction and inspiration to fulfill the mission of the church. Each area of ministry requires a certain level of commitment and completion of a portion or all of the Equipping Base classes. Some of the areas require references and a police background check. Many volunteer opportunites exist in our departments. If you are interested in serving,
