The Next Step |
|
When we first become a Christian, we may find it difficult to explain what just happened to us. Some people recall a marked difference in their attitude or their thinking. For others, the change is more gradual. What's important is that you remember that you've prayed this prayer and nothing can separate you from the love of God that's in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38-39). With that understanding in mind, here are some thoughts to help you in your new life: - Get a Bible if you don't already have one. If you prayed the prayer for the first time, or rededicated your life to serve Christ send us an e-mail and we'll be happy to help you find a Bible.
- Tell someone you know about your decision to change your life. Usually a friend or family member who is already a Christian or open to Christianity offers the most encouragement.
- Find a loving church and become part of the local body. It's within a local church that you will grow. If you're in the Vancouver area you're more than welcome to visit us at 1160 West Georgia Street. Here's a map and directions.
- Ask to be water baptized. Water baptism symbolizes your old self dying with Christ on the cross, and you as a new creation emerging from the water. (For a full study on water baptism, see our Baptism page.)
- Take part in an ALPHA Course to learn the basics of your new-found faith.
Some websites: Congratulations on making the right choice! Today you begin a remarkable journey in the body of Christ!
