Psalm 103

WORD

Shortly after God had brought His people out of Egypt, He revealed Himself to them as their Healer. Read Exodus 15:26, Psalm 105:37. (Note all of them came out of Egypt well - incredible isn’t it!) He had already proven Himself to them as their Saviour, Deliverer and Provider (note what they left with). Now He reveals Himself as their Healer. The Old Testament clearly shows healing as an integral part of God’s plan. Paul tells us that the New Testament is a “better covenant with better promises”. If the old covenant made provision for healing how much more would the new covenant!

We know that Jesus was the exact expression of the nature of the Father. Read John 14:8-12. Never do we see Jesus making anyone sick to teach him or her a lesson, rather we see a consistent message through out the Bible that God wants to heal. Jesus has not changed; He still desires to heal in 2007! Praise God!!

Below are seven reasons why Christ heals. As a group review and discuss the scriptures, let it build your faith in a God who does not change. For some, the scriptures may be a review but it is great to continue feed on the scriptures. Home group leaders you may have a favourite healing verse you want to add. Be sure to pray for any sick in the group or friends/relatives that are sick.

  4. TO PROVE THAT HE TRULY IS THE SON OF GOD
    • Acts 2:22

    • 1 John 3:8; Acts 10:38; Hebrews 2:14
