Keeping Your Prayers Alive |
|
WELCOME ICEBREAKER What was the highlight of your past week? WORSHIP Psalm 63:3 Because Your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You. WORD We understand that God responds to sincere heart felt prayers. Jesus told the woman at the well in John chapter 4 that those who worship God must do it in spirit and in truth. Authentic communication from the heart is a key to our walk with the Lord. In order for our prayers to bear fruit it is important that after we leave our “prayer closet” we continue to speak words that line up with what we prayed. As a group read Luke 1:6-20. - How did the angel deal with the unbelief that came out of Zacharias’ mouth?
- How does the response that Mary gives compare? (See verse 38)
As a group read Numbers 13:1, 2; 25-33. - Why was the report from the 10 spies bad/evil?
As a group read the following verses and discuss why it is important that we watch how we speak about what we have prayed for. - Matthew 12:33-35
- James 3:2-4
- Proverbs 4:23,24; 12:14; 13:2; 17:20; 18:21
WORK Please encourage your group to think about doing something for Thanksgiving. As a group you may want to plan something on Sunday or Monday for those who don’t have a family get together. Many at Coastal are single and/or don’t have family here. Once again thank you for emailing in your home group reports!
