WELCOME ICEBREAKER What is your favorite meal? WORSHIP If you are facing the impossible, celebrate the fact that the same God who took the Israelites through the Red Sea is also there for you. Exodus 15:1-2 – Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD, and spoke, saying: "I will sing to the LORD, for He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider he has thrown into the sea! The LORD is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation; he is my God, and I will praise Him; my father's God, (NKJ) WORD This week we will have communion in our home groups; prior to the evening work with your host to prepare the grape juice and bread/crackers. Read Matthew 26:26-29 and 1 Corinthians 11:23-29. Share with the group we want to take communion with respect for what the Lord has done for us. We examine ourselves by asking ourselves in what area of our lives do we need to apply the benefits of the covenant Jesus made for us. If there is sin in our lives we need to ask for His forgiveness, which is provided by His shed blood. If there is healing needed in our lives (physical, emotional or spiritual) then we need to remember His body, which was broken for us. We also examine ourselves by remembering what we have become through the covenant Jesus made for us. James tells us to look into the mirror of God's word to see who we are. (James 1:22-24) Have the group read the following verses and share what benefit of the covenant the verse reveals. - John 10:28
- Philippians 4:13
- Ephesians 6:10
- 2 Corinthians 2:14
- 2 Corinthians 5:17
- 2 Corinthians 9:8
- Matthew 28:20
- Romans 8:31
- Romans 8:37
- Jude 24
- 2 Thessalonians 3:3
- Luke 10:19
- 1 Peter 2:24
Serve the bread first to remember the Lord's body broken for us and have someone pray thanking the Lord for what He did. Secondly serve the juice and have someone pray thanking the Lord for dying for our sins. Close by praying for other needs in the group. WORK Please announce to your group the church picnic and review with them their role in serving. If you unsure of your duties please contact the Julie or Jen at the church office to find your role.
Thanks and have a great home group!
