In the lesson text tonight James tells us not to quarrel. What did you quarrel about in your home growing up?

As a group read through James chapter 4:1-10 Ask the group to be thinking about the importance of humility as they read.

How would you describe false humility?

How would you describe Biblical humility?

Why does true humility take enormous amounts of courage?

One way to walk in humility is to give preference to others. Read Romans 12:10, Philippians 2:3-8. As a group discuss examples in our everyday lives on how we can give preference to others.

A huge part of humility is submitting to God. Humility begins by giving God first place in our decisions, our actions and our motivations. Read Proverbs 3:5-10.
