
The Equipping Bases will break for the summer and will return in September on Wednesday nights at 7 PM.
The Equipping Bases make it easier and faster for you to learn more about Coastal Church, and to find out more about yourself and your ministry within the local church. It is also a necessary step towards getting involved by volunteering in the church. Upon graduation you will receive a complimentary leather bound bible.
Coastal Church is composed of a wide variety of nationalities, ages, income levels and people in different stages of their spiritual walk. We are stong unified church based on our common faith unified by:
- Our Salvation (Our faith in what God has done for us)
- Our Statement (Our understanding as to why we exist as a church)
- Our Strategy (Our passion to fulfill our purpose)
- Our Structure (Our commitment to when and where we fulfill our role to serve)
101: Discovering Church Membership

This class is a basic introduction to our church family, and through it you will learn who we are and why we exist. You will also explore what we regard to be some of the fundamental truths regarding our salvation.
This class will explore questions such as:
- What is baptism and why should I be baptized?
- What is the meaning of the Lord's Supper?
- What does the church believe?
- Who is the church trying to reach?
- What does it mean to be a member?
201: Discovering Spiritual Maturity

We will focus on the Four Basic Habits every Christian needs to develop in order to grow to spiritual maturity. This class will equip you with the skills you need to begin these habits and explain the tools you need to continue these habits
This class will explore questions such as:
- What is spiritual maturity?
- How do I become a disciple?
- How do I hear, read, study, memorize and apply God's Word?
- Why is a daily quiet time with God important?
- Why should I tithe? What is the difference between tithe and offering?
- Why is fellowship so important and what is the purpose of life groups?
301: Discovering My Ministry

This class is the third of Coastal Church's four basic classes. Since these classes build on each other you should have already attended 101 and 201 before taking this class. The focus of 301: Discovering My Ministry is on Five Personal Factors that have combined to shape the "real" you. By identifying the specific traits you possess in these areas, the ministry God has designed you for will become more clear. It will also allow you to use your God-given gifts and abilities in an area of the church that best expresses who God made you to be!
This class will explore questions such as:
- What is ministry?
- How has God shaped me?
- What natural talents and skills do I have?
- Where does my personality best suit me to serve?
- What does the bible say about spiritual gifts?
401: Discovering My Life Mission
Next Start Date: June 27, 2010
Location: 1111 W. Georgia St.
Time: 11:00 AM
This class is the last of Coastal Church's four basic classes and is a pre-requisite for all individuals wishing to go on short-term missions with the church. You should have already attended 101, 201 and 301 before taking this class. The focus is on preparing you to be a messanger of God's Good News to other people by using your time, talents, and treasure for His Kingdom, regardless of where it leads or what it costs.
This class will explore questions such as:
- What was God's purpose in creating us?
- What was Jesus' mission on earth?
- How do I share my faith with others?
- What are the ministry opportunities locally and abroad?
501: Leading A Life Group

If you have already completed the bases and are interested in leading a life group the we ask that you go through the 501 class.
