ASIAN OUTREACH - THAILAND, CAMBODIA, MONGOLIA

Coastal Church has been partnering with Asian Outreach International through financial support and by sending small teams (5-10 people) over the last few years to serve in the local churches and communities in countries like Cambodia, Thailand and Mongolia.

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES: THAILAND

The Missions team visiting Thailand will be ministering at "The Centre" which is a student centre that bridges the lost and the Thai church. By building friendships, teaching English, and demonstrating God's love in practical ways with the Buddhist Students (Thailand is predominantly Buddhist), the Centre helps the unsaved receive Jesus Christ as their Lord.

There will be an opportunity to be involved in the following activities and ministry opportunities:

• Guaranteed interacation with young Buddhist students who are seeking faith
  
• Daily ESL classes for Buddhist university students
• Involvement and leadership in special activities (Bible studies, cooking classes, movie nights, university evangelism)
• Buddhist ESL walks
• Church Partnerships
• DVBS: Daily Vacation Bible School
• Orphanage Work
• Bible Distribution
• Street Evangelism

Other ministry opportunities outside of ministry time:

Activities range from cross cultural training to a Thai Massage parlor visit.

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES: CAMBODIA

The missions team visiting Cambodia would participate in current local projects which focus on Church and community development, education training, etc.

Over the last 10 years, Asian Outreach in Cambodia has established various medical clinics and programs that have ministered to tens of thousands of people. They have been prayed for fervently and witnessed to with the message of the Gospel. Also over the last 2 years, 5 cell churches have been planted and over 65 people baptized.

There will be opportunities to help at medical clinics, ministering by sharing your testimony and through drama, and various activities as needed.

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES: MONGOLIA

Missions trips to Mongolia are designed for leaders in the church to participate along with pastors in training other pastors and ministry workers in the rural area of Mongolia, where much teaching is needed.

The trips to Mongolia are focused on training leaders both in the marketplace and church. Those traveling on this missions trip will be serving primarily in the roles of teaching. Areas of instruction include Bible School instruction, children's ministry, church plantinf, integrity in the marketplace, pastoral training, etc. Those traveling there should be qualified to instruct or act as an assistant.

LIFELINE HAITI

Starting in 2008 Coastal Church partnered with Lifeline Haiti and its founder Bob Davisson in sending teams to assist in planting schools in Haiti. Over the last year Coastal Church has raised enough money to build a school in one of the poorest areas of Port-au-Prince. Now Coastal Church plans on sending a team to help train pastors and leaders to do Alpha in their country.

Lifeline Haiti's vision is to give the children of Haiti a hot meal each day and education. By building schools, and providing each child with a full education, they help children survive for tomorrow.

"AGAPE" AID CENTER - UKRAINE

Since 2008 Coastal Church has partnered with "Agape" Aid Center by sending a small missions team (4-5 people) to the Ukraine to participate in different activities that would minister to children in two orphanages.

"Agape" Aid Center organizes Winter Camps for Ukrainian orphans during the winter holidays. Through their various camp activities, they give these children a safe place to be during their winter school break as an alternative to being in the streets. More importantly, they provide an opportunity for these children to hear about the love of Christ.

What are the missions opportunities?

The missions team will share the Good News with the children through Bible Study lessons, prayer, sports activities, games, talent shows, etc.

WATOTO - UGANDA

Since 2007, Coastal Church has supported Watoto Child Care Ministry which is committed to the care of AIDS orphans in Uganda. By building Children's Villages, Watoto provides a homely environment where children are cared for, educated, and spiritually discipled to be future responsible Christians and productive citizins of Uganda.

Coastal Church has also supported Watoto by sending teams of 10-16 people each year to help build a childrens homes.

What are the ministry opportunities?

Besides building a Watoto house for the children as mentioned above, the missions team will have opportunities to attend church at KPC (Kampala Pentecostal Church), attend a local cell group, have dinner with Watoto staff, visit Watoto villagers, and spend time with the children.

Note: Given the high volume of requests to go to Uganda, applications are only accepted from those who have NOT been on a Coastal Short Term Missions Trip to Uganda.

Other activities outside of ministry time:

Watoto is able to arrange team activities like a safari to the Game Park, white water rafting or fishing on Lake Victoria.
