By Faith: A Journey Of Trust
As we step into 2026, we are embarking on a significant spiritual journey together. This year, our focus centers on a theme that touches the very heart of what it means to follow Christ: “By Faith.”
Last year, we learned what it means to abide in Christ, to remain connected to the Vine, to stay rooted in His presence. Abiding taught us to be still and rest in God’s love. Now, as we move forward, we’re discovering that abiding naturally leads to movement. The faith that grows in the quiet place of abiding must eventually step out into the unknown places where God calls us. We abide so that we can walk by faith.
You’re going to need faith in 2026. Changes will come faster and uncertainty will increase. We must ensure we’re building our lives on a solid foundation, which means not only hearing but doing the sayings of Jesus. The Bible tells us repeatedly that the just shall live by faith. Don’t live by artificial intelligence, your feelings, or the endless information at your fingertips. Faith that comes from hearing God’s Word will give you the guidance and wisdom to navigate a world drowning in other voices. Our heavenly Father needs no fame, no monetary gain, no human accolades. What pleases Him is faith, trusting Him and what He has said.
But first, let’s clarify what faith is not. Faith is not a wish, treating God like a divine catalogue where we select our desires. Faith is not a feeling, often faith says, “I’m going to move ahead in spite of my feelings. I’m going to do the right thing regardless of how I feel.” And faith is not bargaining with God, saying, “God, if you’ll do this, then I’ll do this.”
“By faith” means choosing to trust God even when you can’t see the outcome. Hebrews 11:1 captures something profound: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” These aren’t abstract concepts; they’re an invitation to transform how we live and experience God’s presence daily.
Throughout the first quarter of 2026, we’ll journey through Hebrews 11, often called the “Hall of Faith,” discovering what it means to live by faith in every dimension of life. We’ll explore stories of biblical heroes like Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, and Moses, ordinary people who accomplished extraordinary things because they trusted God.
What makes this series so relevant is that these aren’t stories about people with special access to God. They’re stories about people like us who chose to believe God even when circumstances seemed impossible. Noah built an ark when there was no sign of rain. Abraham left everything without knowing his destination. Their faith didn’t eliminate challenges; it enabled them to face those challenges with confidence in God’s character.
As we journey through 2026 “By Faith,” we invite you to examine your own walk with God. What areas of your life need a deeper foundation of faith?
Faith isn’t passive wishfulness. True faith moves us to action, shapes our priorities, and leaves a lasting testimony impacting generations. Our goal isn’t merely to increase knowledge about faith, but to be equipped with conviction and courage to live it out.
The adventure of faith begins now.
