What is the HNL Team?
The HNL (“Hole-Nutha -Level”) team is a community of people who actively serve within our church and in our city using their God-given gift and passions. From creating a welcoming environment by serving as a greeter, to leading the next generation to Jesus with the Kids Ministry Team, to facilitating conversation by leading a Small Group, or building relationships with the Eden team in the Downtown Eastside – this HNL team serves God, and makes things happen in the Kingdom of God.

Take the next step in joining the HNL Team by getting started on the CONNECT COURSE. The course is designed to equip you to live out your calling as you fully devote yourself to follow Christ. You will learn the essentials to following Jesus, connecting to our community, discovering your purpose, and serving with your God-given gifts.
Where Can I Serve?
Alpha Course Team
This team creates an environment for guests to explore meaning of life in an informal, fun, and friendly setting. Serving opportunities include dinner preparation, set up, greeting, registration, and more.
Communion Team
This team serves behind the scenes to prepare both the elements and the environment for Communion during our Wednesday and Sunday Communion services.
Connect Course Team
As the official hosts of our Connect Course, this team greets guests as well as provides materials and assistance throughout our four classes.
Events Team
Church-wide events that includes Grand Services, Easter Services, Conferences hosted by this team who places priority on valuing people and serving with excellence.
Facilities Team
This team works diligently behind the scenes to maintain a spirit of excellence in every area of our church. Serving opportunities include custodial during weekend services, or during the week, as well as special events set ups.
Gatekeepers
This team loves people and makes them safe at home here at Coastal. They keep our church secure by guarding our doors and being aware of our guests, and surroundings.
Greeters
This friendly team loves people and makes them feel at home here at Coastal. They welcome guests with a smile, encouragement and personal touch so that hearts are open to the Gospel message.
Guest Services
This team connects guests to the Church community, providing resources and information on all of our current events, ministry opportunities and services at Coastal.
Hospitality & Energy Bar
This energetic team connects with guests by offering a hot cup of coffee, treats, and a warm welcome.
Coastal Kids
This team creates an environment where children are consistently exposed to the real love of Jesus. We believe no child is too young to know the love of God, the incredible realities of His Kingdom and the power of the His Word for their everyday lives. We do this through fun, dynamic teaching, object lessons, dramas, and games. (Nursery / Walkers / Toddlers / Preschool / School Age / Worship Team).
Special Events & Projects
This team creates an environment where children during Summer, Easter, and Autumn are exposed to the real love of Jesus. Areas of involvement are Event & Weekend Service administration (lesson prep, planning, filming, etc), Urban Kids Camp, Summer Camp, October 31 Event, Grand Services, Easter Services.
Media Production
Bring your creativity and tech savvy to this team that reaches thousands by delivering the Word and worship through camera, lighting, and other visual elements. (sound, audio-visual, filmography, robotic cameras)
Music Ministry
Through vocals, instruments, or audio engineering, this dynamic team prepares the way for our guests to encounter the presence of the living God.
Office Assistance
This team utilizes their gifts of administration and organization to serve during the week with office needs on a volunteer basis.
Parking Team
This fun and enjoyable team is truly the first impression of Coastal! If you enjoy telling people where to go and giving them a warm welcome, this is the team for you!
Setup & Takedown Team
This team facilitates the Coastal experience at our portable campuses by setting up before service and taking down after service.
Small Group Leadership
We believe that real life change takes place in the context of relationships. As a Small Group Leader, you have the greatest opportunity to connect with others, fulfill your passions, develop your gifts and live out the Great Commission.
Ushers
These mighty men and women prepare people for a positive worship experience by welcoming and assisting them to a seat, facilitating the offering and maintaining a distraction-free environment.
Weekend Services Prep Team
This team prepares the tools that allow guests to participate in worship during and after our services. Stocking up Staying Connected cards, offering envelopes, Guest Services supplies, Hospitality supplies, Energy Bar supplies, etc!
Youth & Young Adults Ministries
Join the team that is building the next generation, one dynamic worship experience, and opportunities to meet with God and build relationship through Life Groups.
