Campus Update: Spanish In-Person Services
Over the years at Coastal, we have led several Spanish life groups that connected this community together, and we are excited for this new season to look outwardly in reaching the Hispanic community that are yet to know Jesus.
Recently we’ve sensed a call from the Holy Spirit to start services in Spanish, as we continue to see a growing Latin population, families, students, and individuals, arriving in Vancouver looking for better living, seeking Christ and a place to belong to in a new country. We stepped out in faith and started with our first service February 2020 before the pandemic, and then carried it on online with Pastor Fermin Garcia all the way from Tijuana Mexico, supporting the ministry through preaching, along with Pastor Karen and Abner & Jessica Galvan. This online ministry led to over 50 people accepting Christ. Along with our strategy to grow as a church then, we’re excited to launch an in person Spanish service to reach many more.
WHO WILL LEAD?
We’re happy to introduce the team that will lead, who are also Campus ministers – Abner and Jessica Galvan, & David and Jacquie Trivino – they will minister alongside Pastor Karen serving this congregation. Abner and Jess have been part of our leadership team faithfully already ministering to the Latin congregation in our church, and David comes with plenty of pastoral and worship leading experience in Ecuador, and Jacquie has been a part of our Family Life team. Both couples will bring a strength in connecting with others and in discipleship.
WHERE ARE WE MEETING?
Now that we are able to gather we are excited to launch this Spanish service in person at Commercial Campus at 1:00 pm, where families with their children, young adults, professionals can come and worship in their language every Sunday, reaching the community with the gospel.

We want to help make your first visit a great one! Please refer to the frequently asked questions below for information specific to the Commercial Campus.
If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you, have you stand up, or ask you to give money. We know that many people want to check out the church and “be anonymous” for awhile —and that’s fine with us! Come in, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and see if this is the church for you.
Our team will frequently disinfect surfaces throughout the building and we will sanitize the auditoriums between services. Hand-sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the building. Water fountains, food-services, and coffee stations will not be available at this time. All seat-back materials, papers, and pens will be removed.
We will adhere to our province’s decision regarding masks. At this point, masks are recommended but not mandatory.
If you or someone in your family is considered “high-risk” for severe illness, we encourage you to continue worshipping with us online.
Abner & Jessica Galvan serve as the campus ministers at Coastal Church’s Commercial Drive campus. Abner and Jessica, under the leadership of Pastor Karen Kepkay, also serve as ministers to the latin congregation in our church.
Every week the services at Commercial incorporate an inspiring video message from our senior pastor, Dave Koop, which is then followed by a short closing message our campus ministers, Abner & Jessica.
