Getting Started at Coastal Church

Common Questions

If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you, have you stand up, or ask you to give money. We know that many people want to check out the church and “be anonymous” for awhile —and that’s fine with us! Come in, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and see if this is the church for you.

Where are you located?

Coastal Church has 5 campuses located in the Greater Vancouver Area, and an Online Campus. For more information click on the specific campus page located under the Locations tab.

What do I wear to a service?

You’ll find that church visitors wear everything from casual clothes to business suits at our Weekend Services. We encourage our guests to wear something that’s comfortable, without fear of judgement from others.

What about my children?

At Coastal Church your children are a top priority. Coastal Kids is designed for all children from ages 6 months to 10 years old (Grade 5), and Coastal Youth is created for high school students (Grade 6-12). In all of our services, we want every child to feel safe, have fun, make friends, learn God’s Word, grow in their personal relationship with Jesus and share His love with others.

What kind of church are you?
Coastal is a non-denominational, and multi-site church meeting in the heart of urban city centers. Greater Vancouver has become a mosaic of various cultures and the life of the church reflects that with more than one hundred nationalities represented on any weekend. You can learn more by visiting our Vision & Values page.
Why do you have life groups?

Life groups are the perfect place for you to build meaningful relationships and grow your faith in an intimate and supportive environment. You’ll find it helps you engage with God’s Word and grow in spiritual maturity through discipleship. You’ll also have the opportunity to serve alongside each other in ministry, and share the love of Christ both locally and abroad.

How can I join a life group?
You can get started by opening our Life Group directory, and begin looking for a group near you. Choose from a variety of options from location, interest, and schedule to find the group that’s just right for you.
How can I be discipled and grow?
Coastal Church offers a number of courses throughout the year that are designed to equip, train or support you on your spiritual journey. If you’re new to Christianity we recommend starting with The Alpha Course, to learn more about the foundations of faith.
How can I begin volunteering?
Take the next step in joining the HNL Team by getting started on the Connect Course. The course is designed to equip you to live out your calling as you fully devote yourself to follow Christ. You will learn the essentials to following Jesus, connecting to our community, discovering your purpose, and serving with your God-given gifts.
