Musician, Song Writer, Recording Artist

As a musician, song writer and recording artist, Colin is a businessman who truly understands the music business. He lives in Vancouver and presently is connected with Randy Bachmann of B.T.O. fame and The Guess Who.

Colin is a polished and seasoned artist. One of Colin's more recent songs is: "The Ride Of Your Life", a song written and performed by Colin in tribute to the victims and heroes of September 11th, 2001 in New York City.

Actor/Singer

Michael Walker is a veteran actor/singer with experience in stage, television and film.

His transition from 10 years business management at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel came in 1995 when he began to complete a Master's Degree from the University of British Columbia.

Michael is currently President of HD Media Works LP, a company that works closely with HD Pictures and Post Inc., in Los Angeles, California. Additionally, he is currently in pre-production as producer for a television series to be filmed in December.

Wednesday, October 04, 2006 — Harvey Thompson, MSc

 

Software Engineer, EA

Harvey is a software engineer at EA (Electronic Arts), the largest games publisher and developer in the world. He and his wife, Su, moved from London, England, in December 2004 to fulfill a long-time dream of living and working in Vancouver. He has over sixteen years of experience in the software industry and recently gained a Masters with Distinction in Software Engineering from Oxford University.

Before working at EA, he spent a year on self-funded research and development (R&D) into games technology, two years on games physics and networking R&D for an Oxford based company, and has other non-games software engineering experience in web development, Unix operating system and network design and implementation. He started using computers when he was 10 years old, mainly learning how to write and play computer games, and now enjoys being paid to "play" all day!

Harvey has been married to Su for 11 years, and they both love skiing, walking, cycling and exploring around what little of BC they have visited so far.

Wednesday, September 06, 2006 — Albert Lo

President of Jireh Strategies Group Inc. and a business consultant.

He has a diverse background in education, business, ministry and community involvement. Graduated with a degree in agriculture from the University of Guelph, he was a licensed agrologist in BC and Ontario. He was also professionally qualified, and for more than 20 years worked in real estate valuation, finance, development and construction.

Albert is passionate about serving God and people. He is actively involved in a number of ministries, and has some 12 years of experience in television program production. He was part of the Trinity Television team that obtained two television broadcast licenses in BC and Manitoba. From 2000 to 2005, Albert served as their VP Corporate Affairs and Partnerships Development and Director of Programming Balance.

From the late 80’s to mid 90’s, Albert represented visible minorities at the regional and national levels in the areas of employment equity, human rights and multiculturalism. He is currently a member of the British Columbia Provincial Committee on Diversity and Policing. In 2002, he was awarded the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal for contributions to the community, fellow Canadians and Canada.

Jacques Guillard is originally from France and has been in Vancouver working with Executive Security Ltd for more than 20 years. He has been serving in his current roll, an executive position for a number of years now.

Jacques is described as a man with a passion not only for his workplace to get him where he is, but also in his personal life. He was passionate to find the truth in the long search for answers to the questions in life: Why are we here? Is there a God?

James Fam is a young professional engineer currently working as a Project Manager in the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) department at Translink. James has worked on several major rail transit projects in the Greater Vancouver area, as well as development of technology in transportation. Such projects include the Canada Line, the Evergreen LRT Line, Automated Toll Collection Systems and Advanced Traveller Information Systems. James has worked with the BC Ministry of Transportation after completing his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from UBC in 1999.

James has a passion for connecting with students, as it was at UBC that James founded his faith. He continues to have strong ties to UBC, professionally through his work on UBC transportation projects, academically through his graduate studies towards a Masters in Engineering degree, and spiritually through his involvement with campus ministry. James also has passion for his wife of 6 years, and a baby girl born earlier this year.

Susan Martinuk is a nationally known writer, speaker and public policy analyst. Wednesday, March 01, 2006 — Wally Buono

 

BC Lions Head Coach

Wally Buono is the Head Coach and General Manager of the BC Lions. His coaching abilities have put him on the map as one of the greatest coaches in the history of the CFL. Wally was honoured as Coach of the Year in 1992 and 1993, and has won nine Division titles.

Born in Potenza, Italy in 1950, Wally moved to Canada in 1953 with his family, later playing minor football in Montreal. He attended Idaho State University and was a linebacker for the Bengais. Wally returned to Canada and played 10 seasons with the Montreal Alouettes as a linebacker and punter, playing in 152 games.

Aside from being an accomplished CFL coach, Wally is a noted contributor to the community, working with such organizations as Operation Christmas Child and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. He is a dedicated Christian who has demonstrated how to live out his faith in a career with many challenges. Wally and his wife Sande have four children.

Vancouver Police Department Deputy Chief

Bob Rich is a police officer with the Vancouver Police Department. He has worked with the VPD for 25 years and is currently the Deputy Chief in charge of the Operations Division.

Bob grew up in Vancouver and has a passion for taking on the crime and disorder issues that exist in the city. He has a particular interest in the work being done in the Downtown Eastside. Bob has been trained to be a lawyer and had never considered becoming a police officer, but it turned out that someone had other plans for him.
