Key Details & Information
It helps the Coastal Kids team with names and identifying which group children should be in. It means that we have a list of who is in which group should we ever need it on a weekend service, like a class list of names. It also gives us a record of who has attended Coastal Kids, when and how often, which is useful for planning our services and contacting parents, and organizing special events etc.
Children will receive a name tag with an ID number and the parent will receive a tag with the same ID number. This is to make it easier for us to know that the right person is picking up children at the end of a service.
We believe all children are valued equally and created in God’s image. We are honoured to serve children with special needs, and want to provide an environment where every child can have an encounter with God.
Please let us know by e-mailing [email protected] if you are planning to visit a weekend service so we can arrange to meet you and your child, and find out how we can provide the best support.
We encourage all parents to feel free to go forward for prayer ministry at the end of the service. If possible, we would appreciate it if you could arrange for at least one parent to come pick up your child after the service.
All children’s ministry volunteers go through and must be cleared for a police criminal record check process, with the vulnerable sector, that is, with children and the elderly included.
This will vary depending on their age group and what they have done that particular service. However, your children will often have a craft, worksheet and/or parent page to bring home. There are also home lesson resources and activities provided in the Coastal Church App, “Connect” section.
Please let us know if, for whatever reason, your child isn’t enjoying him or herself on at a service. We endeavour to make our classes as fun and accessible as possible, so if your child isn’t having a good time or understanding what we are doing, we would love to know. It’s best to speak to one of the Kingdom Explorer leaders/teachers at the end of the service or e-mail [email protected] during the week to arrange a time to chat.
We generally have 3 Kingdom Laws in our classrooms: love others, speak life and expect miracles!
Nursery and Walkers are usually given Baby Mum Mums. Toddlers and Preschool children are usually given Arrowroot crackers or Fishy Crackers. Depending on the service, School Age children may be given a snack such as popcorn, candy, or peanut-free cookies. Allergies are always checked before snacks are given out. Candy is quite seldom. We encourage children to hold onto their candy until the end of the service so permission to eat it may be received from the parents.
Yes, you are very welcome to stay with your child. We would encourage you to remain in the room with your child, instead of taking them into church with you, so they can become comfortable with the room setting and make friends with the other children in their age group.
Parent/Guardian mobile numbers are received and recorded upon first time registration. When parents need to be contacted for emergencies or because their child is not settling in, a text will be sent to them with the child’s ID number or with a friendly request to come attend to their child. With that in mind, parents are encouraged to leave their mobile phones on vibrate.
We have a fantastic team who serve faithfully at our weekend services and even in the office during the week to prepare lesson materials, as well as for our events. If you are interested in joining the team and have a passion for seeing children become fully devoted to God, then we would love to speak with you! Please e-mail [email protected]
